Little Miss Sew ‘n’ Sew are proud to now be a stockist of Liberty fabrics.

Liberty Fabrics

Shortly after opening on Regent Street London in 1875, Arthur Liberty printed the first Liberty fabrics. By the 1890s Liberty Fabrics was a byword for the very best of avant-garde textile design. Today, every bolt of Liberty fabric is the product of a bespoke production process: hand-drawn by the in-house design team and printed in its factory a stone’s throw from Lake Como and cared for by skilled technicians who oversee the production of over 150 different designs a year.’

Based in Soho, London, the Liberty Design Studio creates a new collection of up to 40 original designs each season. Inspired by Art, Architecture, History, Music, Flora, Fauna. Each collection is themed and tells a unique story.

The Liberty Design Studio is committed to using traditional methods of design. Each design is created by hand using a variation of techniques: paint, pencil, ink as well as specialist computer textile packages.  Liberty Fabrics are renowned for their fine detail, intricate pattern and original Liberty colour palettes.  The iconic floral and paisleys, geometrics and colourful conversationals are translated onto the finest textiles and innovative cloths.

Liberty’s vast print archive is a national treasure, encompassing well over 45,000 designs and dating from the 1800s to the present day - including collaborations with artists throughout their history. Today’s in-house print designers draw from the breadth of designs to produce each new collection.

Little Miss Sew ‘n’ Sew are proud to now be stockists of Liberty quilting weight cotton fabrics with three beautiful, new collections.

The Merry and Bright Collection

Designed in the London studio, the Merry and Bright collection from Liberty Fabrics is inspired by those special moments spent gathered around the Christmas tree, excitedly anticipating Christmas. The designs Bauble Bonanza and Shine Bright celebrate the ornamentation of beautiful tree decorations and flickering candle lights, whilst All Wrapped Up captures the excitement of preparing gifts for loved ones. Look out for a treasure trove of toys hidden within the tree in Magical Forest. Our classic Wiltshire Shadow in metallic gold and silver provides the perfect blender to compliment this collection – traditional colours of rich reds, jolly greens, and navy create the perfect winter palette for your sewing creations. Liberty Fabrics The Merry and Bright Collection

The Carnaby Collection

The latest quilting collection from Liberty Fabrics is inspired by the historic epicentre of popular culture that is Carnaby Street – located just around the corner from the iconic Liberty flagship store. The Carnaby Collection draws inspiration from the music, art and fashion of the 1960s and ‘70s, featuring original designs of this period from the Liberty Archive. Influenced by a colourful patchwork that was painted on Carnaby Street’s pavement during the 1970s, prints reflect the free-spirited, optimistic mood of that era – the magical landscape of Sunny Afternoon creates a psychedelic and colourful London park, while the hand painted, bold and simplified flower forms in Bohemian Blooms are reminiscent of Pop Art patterns. The mesmerising swirls in Carnation Carnival draw influence from the Art Nouveau revival of the 1960s. Traditionally screen printed onto soft Lasenby cotton, the collection is available in three distinct colour stories. View the collection here

Liberty Fabrics Flower Show Midsummer

Flower Show Midsummer
The Flower Show quilting collections from Liberty Fabrics celebrate the ‘Best in Show’, bringing together botanical designs from across Liberty’s iconic print archive. Drawing inspiration from the glory and tradition of classic British flower shows, the collection features diverse flower forms united in a cacophony of colour, illustrating Liberty’s rich heritage of floral design. The Flower Show Midsummer collection takes us on a walk around a sunlit wildflower meadow, where light sky blues, sunshine yellows and bright pops of red and pink complement darker tones of rich greens and inky blues. The result is a bold and playful palette, guaranteed to bring any crafting project into full bloom. The collection is traditionally screen printed onto Lasenby cotton, a base specifically developed for quilting and craft projects. View the collection here
