Junes stunning subscription box really does reflect the beautiful weather we've been having! My second box on my yearly subscription and I was immediately smitten with the beautiful fabrics!
I was super excited to see this pattern.. a make-up case you can lie flat!! Great idea. This is such a useful sew especially for those of us that who pop our make up on in front of the mirror while your make up is laying on the carpet or bed covers!! (Yep that's me!!) Super handy for washing too.. I'm far too messy with my make up and have many a spill or drop my mascara wand!
Everything you would need for the project is in this box...so how did I get on..
The instructions were clear and have photo prompts so that was helpful when understanding which side of the fabric you were sewing from. I did have a sticky point with the bias that went around the edge (later to fed the rope in) however with this Guilty Pleasure subscription comes free access to the FB page and A YouTube video was available to show me how to make it.. totally great!! Once I could see how that part was sewn: I was away and the sew was actually very straight forward.
With this FB page other members had also posted their sews of this sensational make up pouch and I was able to pick up a few tips.. One member used a plain fabric for the inside..by following this idea I was able to make more than one make up pouch with my gorgeous fat quarters. Another member used poppers to secure her pouches! Such a great added bonus to be part of a group to help each other out and share tips!
So this month (with a few more haberdashery accessories purchased separately) I made three make up pouches from my Lewis & Irene Hibiscus Hummingbird fat quarters. Cannot wait for my third box to arrive!!
